The District 5950 Midterm Assembly has been CANCELLED for January 18th due to weather!

Recap for Wednesday January 15, 2020
If you missed the Rotary meeting this week, here’s a quick recap:

The Kites on Ice Festival will be Saturday, February 9th on Buffalo Lake. Rotary will again be a significant sponsor. Sign up to volunteer with logistics, fire tending or the kite building workshop.  Also, if you have a fire pit that you can lend for the day, please let Dirk Foster know.

Sign up for Food Shelf Friday.  You can sign up at the next meeting or online by using links located in this bulletin.  Help Rotary help the food shelf to help our elderly have access to food!!

Our speaker was Becki Melvie, chef and owner of The Abundant Kitchen.  Inspired by a sink full of dirty dishes, Becki moved from Buffalo to complete a 12 week immersive cooking program in Ireland.

After brief stints with Whole Foods and other food related industries, she began selling crepes at the Buffalo Farmers Market.  Soon after she opened the doors of Abundant Kitchen, featuring gourmet food, cooking utensils, pots and pans, a meat and seafood market and culinary classes.

There is now a second Abundant Kitchen location in Excelsior which has helped raise awareness and promote the Buffalo culinary classes.

Becki lists as her values spirituality, family and adventure.  She feels her business touches each of her values.

Her goal of The Abundant Kitchen is to help others get in the kitchen and cook with confidence.  To help this mission, her first cookbook will be published this spring and she is leading a group on a culinary tour thru Ireland in May.

Have a great week and go "Connect the World!"

Don’t forget…. Rotary is more than meetings….it is Service above Self!
